‘More Powerful After Injury’ Kwak Bin Stops Sweep and Proves He’s a National Team Ace

Doosan’s return from injury saved the team from back-to-back losses.

Doosan won the final day of its series against KIA at Jamsil Baseball Stadium on Nov. 11 behind a six-inning, two-run performance from 메이저사이트 starter Kwak Bin.

Kwak-Bin pitched six innings, allowing two runs on three hits with two walks and one strikeout to improve to 4-2 on the season.

Kwak established himself as Doosan’s “homegrown ace” last season with a solid 8-9 record and 3.78 ERA in 27 games, earning a spot on the WBC squad with a fastball that touched 150 kilometers.

In May, however, the injury came out of nowhere. On May 7, he struggled mightily, giving up six runs in ⅓ of an inning against LG. Back pain was the problem.

After resting and rehabbing in the second team, Kwak returned to the NC on May 31, but his back didn’t cooperate this time and he was sent back down to the second team.

He reassured fans with a good performance in his comeback game. He proved why he was selected for the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Fifth-ranked Doosan has 28 wins, one draw and 26 losses, widening the gap between them and sixth-ranked KIA (25 wins, 28 losses) to 2.5 games.

At the plate, Jung Soo-bin went 4-for-3 with a home run and a run scored, while Kang Seung-ho went 1-for-4 with a home run, an RBI and a run scored.

KIA starter Yoon Young-cheol pitched six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits with one walk and five strikeouts, but was unable to get any support from his bats and took the loss. Jamsil=Choi Moon-young
