SSG Landers won 3-2 against the Kiwoom Heroes in the 2023 Shinhan Bank Solar KBO League at SSG Landers Field in Incheon, South Korea on February 2. SSG moved into sole possession of first place with 31 wins, one draw and 17 losses in 49 games.

SSG’s legendary Choi has been on fire lately. Two days ago, he hit a home run to become the first player in history to hit double-digit home runs in 18 consecutive seasons. His home run against Kiwoom gave him 440 career home runs, 27 shy of Lee Seung-yeop’s record of 467.
Just this season alone, he’s in the top 10 in a number of hitting categories, including batting average (.299) (14th overall), 11 home runs (2nd overall), 53 hits (13th overall), and 34 RBIs (5th overall). Choi’s performance continues to be steady, and that’s what keeps the Landers in the top spot.
